Surfing Lessons Maine and Surfboard Rentals Maine. Learning to surf can be fun and challenging. We use proven techniques so that all students can ride waves their first lesson, we teach in a way that gives you the proper information needed so that you can learn to analyze your own surfing and continue to progress on your own.
Safety First...Our emphasis is on learning how to surf and handle your board properly in the water. This includes being respectful to other surfers and the ocean environment in Maine.
Barry Tripp, primary instructor and owner is CPR certified, AFAA Certified and various other nationally recognized sports certifications/requirements. Barry Tripp surf's all year round (yes even when it is snowing) and grew up in the southern part of Florida. He has over 25 years of surfing experience.
Whether you're a beginner, experienced surfer or somewhere in between, we've got a board or a lesson to suit your surfing spirits.

| | | Surf Lessons Maine - All lessons are PRIVATE (one on one), however we will discount if 2 or more students participate in one of the following lessons....
| | | "Just Do It" $60.00 - 60 minutes (includes wet suit and surfboard) Perfect for anyone at any age. This private lesson is geared towards the Beginner Surfer. A skilled surfer will teach the basics of ocean safety and the essential understandings of the sport of surfing. Our goal in the "Just Do It" lesson is for the student to stand up on the board and catch his/her first ocean wave. Safety First. | | | "Go For It" $75.00 - 90 minutes (includes wet suit and surfboard) Perfect for anyone who has tried surfing, but needs to polish up on his or her skills. A skilled surfer will guide you through surfing techniques and strategies used in today's surfing sport. The first 30 minutes will be with the instructor and the second 60 minutes, the student is on his/her own. You'll have a blast and safety first.
| | | "SURFari" $125.00 - Up to 4 Hours (includes wet suit and surfboard) Looking to get into bigger wavers or to those remote, secret Maine surfing spots? Let us lead you there for some fun and adventure! Strictly reserved for the advanced surfer. Travel time to and from destinations is included in this 4-hour surfer safari. Limited availability - weather, tide, etc.
| | | ALWAYS REMEMBER - SAFETY FIRST | | | Our emphasis is always - safety first. Learning how to surf can be fun, but the sport can also be challenging and perilous. Anyone taking a surfing lesson or renting a board, must know how to swim (very well). All lessons focus on teaching new surfers, how to surf and handle their surfboards properly in the ocean waters. This includes being respectful to other surfers, swimmers and the ocean environment.
Anyone renting or taking lessons must sign a waiver. Anyone under 18, must have a parent or legal guardian authorize and sign forms to rent or take lessons.
| | | Watch out for the "Dangerous Too's"
Too tired
Too cold
Too far from safety
Too much sun
Too much strenuous activity
Also, don't chew gum or eat while you swim! Swimming while you are chewing gum or eating could cause you to start choking and this could lead to a very serious incident.
Use common sense about swimming after eating! In general, you do not have to wait an hour after eating, 1/2 hour may be sufficient; however if you have had a large meal, it is wise to let the digestion get started before doing any type of swimming activity. Use good judgement. Remember - safety first.
